WORDLE HELPER

Narrow a five-letter pattern without random guessing.

Combine confirmed positions with letters you know are present or absent.

Use a dot for each unknown position, such as s..re.

How the pattern works

Type known letters in their confirmed positions and use a dot for each unknown position. The pattern s..re, for example, asks for five-letter words beginning with s and ending with re.

Present and excluded letters

Use present letters for characters you know belong somewhere in the answer. Use excluded letters for letters you have ruled out. Combining all three fields can reduce the candidate list dramatically.

Use the solver as a filter, not a guarantee

A candidate list is only as complete as the underlying lexicon. The actual daily game may also use an answer list that differs from a general five-letter word list.
