Do not stop at recognition
Seeing a word in a result list is not the same as knowing it. Look up its meaning, pronunciation, and one natural example.
Keep a small active list
Five to ten new words at a time is easier to revisit than a giant vocabulary dump. Move words out only when you can use them confidently.
Learn families, not isolated entries
Related nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs reinforce one another and reveal how English changes word forms.
Use spaced review
Revisit new words after a day, several days, and a week. Retrieval strengthens memory more effectively than rereading once.
Write with the words
A short sentence, headline, or paragraph forces you to decide whether you truly understand a word's meaning and tone.
